Umbrella Distribution Drive for Field Labourers

Promising Indian Society is committed to improving the well-being and occupational safety of vulnerable workers whose livelihoods depend on outdoor labour under challenging weather conditions. Recognizing the risks faced by daily-wage earners exposed to extreme heat and heavy rainfall, the organization undertakes targeted interventions that support their health, safety, and productivity

As part of this effort, an Umbrella Distribution Drive was conducted to provide protective gear to outdoor labourers working in agricultural fields and tea garden communities. The initiative aimed to reduce weather-related health risks, enhance workplace comfort, and support uninterrupted livelihoods for workers who rely on daily earnings to support their families.

Through this programme, 5,000 field labourers in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia, Assam, received high-quality, weather-resistant umbrellas designed to provide protection from harsh sunlight and monsoon conditions. The intervention contributed to improved occupational well-being and helped workers continue their daily activities with greater safety and dignity.
