Project Poshan for distribution of Nutritional Product to Children and Women in Slum areas
Project Poshan is a focused nutrition intervention by Promising Indian Society aimed at improving the nutritional well-being of women and children from underserved communities. Recognizing that adequate nutrition is fundamental to healthy growth, maternal well-being, and overall development, the initiative seeks to address nutritional deficiencies through the distribution of essential nutritional products and community-based awareness efforts.
The programme provides targeted nutritional support to vulnerable women and children through the distribution of nutritional supplements, fortified food products, and specially designed Poshan Kits. Alongside direct assistance, the initiative promotes awareness on nutrition, health, and well-being, enabling families to make informed choices and adopt healthier practices.
As part of the programme, specialized Poshan Kits containing supplementary nutrition, micronutrients, and health mixes were distributed to 3,307 pregnant and lactating women in Kota and Bundi, Rajasthan, supporting maternal health and improving nutritional outcomes during critical stages of motherhood. The initiative also extended nutritional assistance to 5,050 vulnerable women and children in Ahmedabad West, Gujarat, helping address nutritional deficiencies and enhancing overall health and well-being.
Through Project Poshan, Promising Indian Society continues to strengthen community health by improving access to essential nutrition and fostering long-term well-being among vulnerable populations. The initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to creating healthier communities and ensuring that women and children receive the nutritional support necessary to lead healthy and productive lives.
